Finding the Source of a Sprinkler System Leak

If the leak occurs underground which many times it will you have to take some extra steps in finding and fixing it.

To start create cap all of the sprinkler head. Turn the system on and wait for a puddle to appear.

Avoid digging until you are sure of the location of the leak. Once it is located, turn the water off and let the area dry some before digging a trench around it being careful not to damage the pipe further.
